Are you doing anything to fix his teeth, so that they don't hurt? Bad teeth are very serious, and can lead to heart disease. The idea that they are hurting him should be enough for you to get them fixed. No vet can tell you that your dog is 100% anything, you have to do an DNA test to determine that. He can just tell you that they look like a certain breed. Diapering does not prevent them from tieing.
