I've just left Zoey at our vet's office. Sunday we noticed a swelling mid throat. I called Monday to make an appt. I was able to get in Friday this wk. On Monday she was acting fine, eating, drinking, etc. On sunday she was checked all over to see if there was any bite/puncture marks. We didin't see any; but this is a double coated breed and could have easily been missed.

This morning, she didn't eat her food, just picked at it. I felt her neck it had to have doubled in size. Plus the side of her mouth was swollen. No temp, her eyes are clear, gums nice and moist and pink. I then found another swelling on her left lateral chest - ipsilateral to the check/facial swelling.
I showed up at our vets an hour ago. Dr Jack's partner examined Zoey, she found many swollen lymph nodes, actually all but the axillary nodes. Dr Jack will examine her after he gets out of surgery and he will call me.

I'm pretty distraught I didn't even get the female doc's name. Lots of diagnosing to do, but she wants to take some fluid from the neck area and another lymph area. She said well Gail, this doesn't look good, lymphoma is a distinct possibility.

Zoey will be four years old in June! Only four years old. Her only health concern was last year she tested positive for heartworms and she did "successfully" I thought pull through the adulticide treatment.

I don't know when I'll hear from Dr Jack. I feel sick to my stomach, and held back tears are burning my eyes.
