This is your family's decision, not everyone else's as someone mentioned earlier. There are always plenty of people that have nothing but negative comments. Just ignore them. They don't understand us multiple dog lovers! We like having multiples for the same reasons others do. Mainly, they keep each other company and they are never truly alone that way, even if you're gone. My son had a cocker spaniel that had terrible separation anxiety and was very destructive if left alone. But, she was fine at our house. Eventually, we ended up taking the dog because he couldn't handle it anymore. Just something to think about.
