I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, but it's good that your mom is going to be with you to help out. I know my mom has been a tremendous help, and I don't know what I would do without her.
Yesterday my coworkers completely surprised me with a bridal shower luncheon! We had a faculty meeting scheduled, and on the agenda it said we were doing CORE Math work in the afternoon. I was so shocked when I walked into the library and there were all these people yelling, "SURPRISE!". I was so overwhelmed that I cried. But, it was just wonderful. And now the pile of stuff in the living room that we need to find a home for has grown even more.
I'm not having a bachelorette party. I'm not a drinker, and I don't like to stay out late. (Yes, I am an old fogey sometimes). I hope you have a blast at yours! |
Awwww how sweet of your coworkers!!!
My bachelorette party was not an average one... we did it at one of my bridesmaids houses. We had a spa evening. It was sooo nice and super fun! My mom made all these all natural homemade spa recipes, an exfoliating scrub with almonds and mayonnaise, then a mask with avocados & egg yolk for dry skin and egg white for oily skin. Then a chocolate mask with oatmeal, honey, coco powder (it tasted delicious!!) and a strawberry hand & foot salt scrub with fresh strawberries, olive oil and sea salt. It smelled wonderful! That one we didn't eat bc well... salt... and strawberries, didn't sound appetizing, but everything else we could eat it or we could use it on our skin (or both!)!
We played some silly games, we sang really bad Wii karaoke with games we had, we did have drinks, they were all green drinks, like key lime pie martinis (delicious!!), appletinis and mojitos. Since it was St. Pattys Day, we also did a boiled dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes & carrots, we had other foods that were all green too, like an all green veggie tray with dip, and deviled eggs that we dyed green on the inside. We made spa baskets for everyone with faceclothes and towels, soaps, lotions, exfoliating gloves, mani/pedi tools, green wash basins, cups & fun twisty straws, candles, turbi twist hair towels and green nail polish. Everyone got to take home their goodie baskets! They also hired a massage therapist to come in and for $40 you could get a 1/2 hour massage. aaaahhhhhh
It was soooo nice! Now the countdown is really really on, 5 days until the wedding!!!!
It was a GREAT night! We had so much fun!
