Thank you everyone. I am from northern Alberta, extremely small town which is good and bad! The vet will be in office tomorrow - so I get to make an apt in the am and probably get in. I'm pretty happy about getting that done. I followed Max around the house last night and said no every time he lifted his leg - so with any luck I will get that behavior corrected with patience and time. As for Lulu I picked up some stop itching shampoo and lotion so I hope that helps.
Lesson learned, I paid a fortune for companions. Everything happens for a reason - I'm sure everything will turn out. I'll let you all know what the vet says tomorrow.
