I think it takes a while (two weeks) for disease to become detectable. Also, was the tick fat/engorged or flat/hungry? A tick usually only passes on disease after it's been feeding for 12-15 hours. If the tick is flat, he probably hasn't fed too long... but ask your vet... If your dog has been vaccinated against Lymes disease, the test will show positive.... |
