Remember, Yorkies USED to be larger! And it is not uncommon the get "throw-backs" when breeding Yorkies, even from long established lines! Usually, when a breeder gets these really large babies from a breeding pair, we do "test breedings" to see if another breeding between the same two dogs consistantly produces a larger than standard acceptable puppy. If it does, we perhaps do not breed that pair again, as the object of this is to be breeding dogs that are true to the breed standard. These larger babies are STILL pure bred Yorkies, with all the personality attributes of the precious, endearing Yorkie breed, and make fabulous pets for families with children!
