Ohhh, I have a "thing" about cutting nails and the cuticle and just shiver when I try it so my poor dog picks up on that. I finally had to get the Petipaws(?spelling?) or whatever it is called and Tibbe and I both have good success with that. This is the one area of owning a dog that I find is just awful - trying to keep nails short enough with the old-style clipper but the new gadgets for filing them down have helped me tremendously so I am fine with it now. And I have caused 3 nail bleeds over the years so I know how you feel. When it happened to my dogs, I kept imagining how much it must have hurt to have that cuticle cut like that and just got the Willies. So I guess I will always use the Petipaws type things from now on. Try not to feel too bad - you would never have done that if you could have helped it. Your baby will forgive.
