Looking at the second set of pictures you posted - how can you look at that little boy and not fall in love with that face?!? He is saying, "Please take me and make your home my forever home...." I have had both female and male dogs. In my experience, the female, though she was a loving dog, was loving when she wanted to be. All of my males have been loving regardless. As far as marking, if you have him neutered before he starts marking, he won't or shouldn't mark - again, the belly bands are great! As far as the little boys coat, I would think that you would probably want to keep him in a shorter style so the matting shouldn't be too much of a problem. And it sounds like he has the sweeter personality and a better fit with your daughter. Good luck! I would hate to be in your shoes...
