I have heard that if they are showing no signs, you don't have to treat them, however, it is possible that they could spread the illness to other dogs, so maybe that's why the second doctor wanted to treat? Also, perhaps the medicine has a down side and the first doctor doesn’t believe in over treating with medicine? I would insist upon an answer from the doctors though, don't just settle for shrugged shoulders, it's an excellent question. Best of luck!
