Default Just got back from the ER vet with Teddy

At 2:30 AM Teddy started swelling in the throat and rubbing his neck and face. I wasn't sure what he was doing at first maybe he was having an allergic reaction. I took him down to the kitchen to see him in the light and his collar was tight and he was all swollen. I woke my husband up and we went to the ER vet which is about 20 mins away. When we got there, Teddy's skin was really red and swollen. The vet gave him a shot of benadryl and although he was improving, she was concerned so gave him a shot of steroid (dexamethasone). He has to continue the benedryl for the next several days.

This is almost an exact repeat of the allergic reaction he had back in August.

I really don't know what caused it. He was in bed both times. The vet asked me if I used anything new like fabric softener etc but we haven't. He did have a bath this afternoon, and I'm wondering if it is the shampoo. I've used it before, but maybe he is sensitive.

Keep my little Teddy in your thoughts - I'm so upset, this is very scary when this happens.
