Yes as Maximo suggested. Also I would have her heart checked out thoroughly. You haven't mentioned her age. But a healthy dog that gets regular exercise should not need to be picked up. How-ever it also could be a habit that you have inadvertently taught her.

When Razzle was still a puppy, about 9mths old I think, we went on a 3.5 hour hike with him and our two big dogs. we also had a picnic lunch stop, and a 3/4 hour swim time in the lake. He walked the whole way. But we had built up to this timing over the previous six weeks. Even still, when we got back to the car, for the first time ever, he flopped down on the ground and waited until we got the car unlocked, and doors open. By the time we got back to our cottage, he went from a dead sleep, to up and at em again!.
