I answered for my daughter who used to have her Buddha in a student housing condo. She didn't tell them but when they "discovered him they couldn't do anything because he is a service dog and is allowed any where legally.

She has since moved into a rental house which said that pets were allowed but charged a deposit. Because Buddha is a service dog she did not have to pay the deposit.
