I've just herd both.. that NO, she cant be a parti carrier if she comes from two traditional yorkies, but then i've also heard that she can be a throw back possibily?? i donno..lol. I love the parti's and i'd LOVE to get into them, i just think it'd be funny if i already had a head start with her and didn't even realize it! thankyou so much for your info!
Gina | The only way to know if she is a carrier is to do a coat color test on her to see if she carries the gene.
If she is standard and bred to a standard all pups will be standard.
If she is a standard and you breed her to a full parti male then all pups will be carriers.
If she is a carrier bred to a full parti some will be full parti's, others will be carriers.
Carrier to carrier (or) carrier to standard.
Some pups will carry and some will be standards.
The only way to know which pups do or don't carry the gene it to do the coat color test. As some pups born without any white can still carry the gene.
This is my girl born without any white marking to a carrier mom and a standard dad.
I had the test ran on her and she is a carrier. |
