hello and also a warm welcome to yorkie talk, glad you found this site. i am so sorry to hear that your sweet bailey is having these problems. i always used low fat cheese for giving my zowi her meds, but after a bout of pancreatitis we now use a low fat canned (whitefish) dog food to slip her her meds. she was constipated and then had bad diahrrea and vomitting so our dr advised not to use the cheese after that incident because cush dogs are very prone to pancreatitis.
my (now) 11 year old girl zowi was diagnosed with cushing's june 2011, and hypothyroid september 2011. i remember how scared i was when she was first diagnosed and feeling like my girl wouldn't be around much longer either. like hypothyroid and cushing's, diabetes and cushing's have a direct link to each other and it is fairly common to have both endocrine diseases present. i am going to refer you to a yahoo group site that has been a complete godsend to me, offering a vast amount of info and people who have experienced what you're going through first hand. there is also a lot of info on diabetes and all of the other diseases that can be linked to cushing's. there are several people there very familiar with treating both cushings and diabetes concurrerntly and i am positive that you will find a lot of help there. as a member of this group, i see other members posting about their dogs having both cushing's and diabetes on a weekly basis and getting some great advice. maybe you could find something or someone there that could help her with her inappetence. i was referred to this group by another member of yorkie talk who also has a cush pup. here's a link to the site:

my dear zowi is doing great right now. it was very expensive and trying in the beginning, but i am so glad that she has made a turn around. it was all worth it to have my girl feeling better! her cushing's, thyroid issues, liver issues, pancreas issues are all in check, at least for now. (knocking on wood) i would also like to warn you that there are several "remedies" online that have no clinical proof whatsoever that they actually work so i personally wouldn't waste time or money giving something that could potentially make her worse. my final advice is that you could find an internal medicine specialist in your area to take her for another opinion or further advice, particularly one with an interest in endocrinology. here's a link to the acvim to locate an ims in your area.

again, i am so sorry that you and bailey are going through this. i will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. i would also like to add that i'm glad your molly is doing so well at 13. sending hugs and well wishes to you and your girls!
