I too had a baby with colic. It is AWFUL!!! I still remember the feeling of helplessness, all you want is to soothe your little one and when you can't you feel so inadaqute. I used to use a hot water bottle under her belly as it cant burn and I would pat her bum in a steady rythm. That seemed to help as well as gripe water. The only thing that truly solves colic is the passage of time. I am sorry to hear that you are getting judgement from family members, that is the LAST thing a new mother needs to hear. Also please ignore those who are suggesting that breastfeeding is an issue. You are choosing the BEST for your baby by breastfeeding. Why anyone would suggest that using milk from another species as a better option is beyond me. Clearly you are a wonderful mother and you care very deeply for your baby. Becoming a Mom is such an overwhelming experience and brings up so many emotions, feeling lost and stressed out is SO normal. Be good to yourself, you are doing a great job and remember that your feelings are normal and that its ok to feel stressed out. And IGNORE anyone who tries to judge you and only seek the advice from people who are caring and understanding.
Hang in there Hon, it gets easier.
