Thank you, Ladyjane and Jacksmom, for your help. I think at this point we're going to go on instinct more than following the vet's recommendation totally. I'll do everything I can to stick to a healthy, natural diet, by cooking their food (both will eat the same way), and trying to figure out how close we are to what she needs, calorie-wise. I'm going to continue the meds in whatever form it takes to get it down her (as her heart problem is worsening), and just keep her as happy as possible. We are aware that we only have a few months with her, at best, so we're going for quality time till that time comes. My husband talked to the vet about a service who will come to our home when we have to put her down, so she can pass with dignity and comfort in her own home. But any other information from folks would sure help...she's too skinny.
