I think ppl forget that it is easy to get used to the smell of a dog to the point that you cannnot detect the scent throughout your house. People who do not have pets can be very sensitive to "pet smells". The boyfriend in question may have really smelled the dogs. Now this comparison is a stretch, but I if you think on how fast us non-smokers can smell a smoker, even if they haven't cracked a pack in a while. I have always been pretty good at sniffing out a house that has a pet in it, even if that pet is groomed pretty regularly.

People who don't like dog ""smells" don't belong in my home just like people who smoke....either take it outside or don't come here.

To each his own...but I seriously don't know how you manage to live with your pup if you are that sensitive to "pet smells".
