Also make sure that you thoroughly check out your "pet friendly" hotel. I was going to Kansas City a week ago to pick up my yorkie that I adopted and stayed at a Residence in because they allow pets. Well they do BUT you have to pay a non refundable $100 for cleaning!!!!!!! I inquired before I stayed (anonymously) and told them that I found that ridiculous for one night for a 5 lb dog that does not even shed. Then I sneeked her in! So make sure you check the conditions ahead of time.
