Does he like puppy class? Is there some where else he likes better that you could take him? Maybe take him on short trips a little more often so he gets used to the fact that traveling can be fun. If you only go once a week it's harder to get him accustomed to travel.
When Gracie was going through her "I hate the car" stage I had to put her in the carrier in the back seat. I put her right in the middle of the seat and she would sit and listen to us talk up front. It seemed to calm her that she could not see outside but she could still see and hear us up front.
He does sound like he is having a bit of separation anxiety. |
