FROM DIXIES MOM: " First of all you have to notify the breeder and give them a chance to make it right. If this fails contact the BBB, they can at times mediate between the parties, If that fails, contact the Attorney General they also will mediate between the two parties. If this fails, file in small claims court. All of this is done in the county of the breeder. If you follow these steps you will be able to show the courts you have tried in good faith several times, to resolve this." ......... This is very important to show you have made an effort in good faith, to resolve the issue with the breeder. THEN, if the breeder is uncooperative or unwilling to try to resolve the issue with you, proceed with your course of action. I do not believe it would be prudent, AT THIS TIME, to publically chastize the breeder, before you "give her enough rope to hang herself", so to speak. YOU try to resolve the issue with her, THEN if she does not cooperate, nail her. You do not want to give her the opportunity to come back on you with a "defamation of character" suit. I would think she would have some kind of recourse if you potentially "ruin her business and livelyhood" without "giving her a chance to make it right". I am playing devils advocate here....I feel horrible for you and this breeder should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. |
