Flea eggs are a white or almost clear looking thing. They are small and round. Usually eggs are laid in the furniture and carpeting, but they do sometimes lay eggs on the animal's body. It would seem if what your vet saw was flea eggs that there would also be fleas or flea residue. You can't have eggs without fleas.

Maybe you should get your own flea comb and check your pup frequently. It is possible to have fleas on a dog and not know it until there are so many that it is hard to get control of them. Running a flea comb through the fur everyday will help you to catch anything that may appear on your puppy. If you take your puppy out as it gets older it is a good idea to use something like Advantage or Frontline to prevent a flea infestation. When I first moved to where I live now we never had fleas. Then one year they seemed to invade the area and it has been a battle ever since.
