But in my opinion i think the coat should at least go to the base of his tail.
If he is 10 to 11 inches long from the base of his neck to his butt then an 8 in coat would maybe be a bit short.
If the 10 to 12 in is a little too big he would grow into it.
If you are not sure it may be easier to go to the pet store and try on a similar size and see how it fits....

Cute Jacket! I agree with MY OSCAR. I would go for the small so that it would fit the length of his body better. And I thought it was a great idea to buy one from a local store to get an idea as to how it would fit.
