We would host hockey parties at my last house while I had my previous yorkie. So you're talking about 16 hockey players on the team plus their parents and siblings, all in my home. I never allowed her free run during that time for her own safety. If you want to enjoy the party and socialize, it's just too difficult with that many people to keep an eye on your dog CONSTANTLY and it only takes a second for something to go wrong.
Even now, unless it's just a VERY small gathering, my pup is locked away for her safety..... and my peace of mind.
