I keep all my adults, teens and puppies on puppy food my oldest adult is 7 and I have NO overweight dogs. The reason for this is because theyre very active, I do not kennel my dogs, they are free to play and run inside on rainy days and outs running and play on warmer days. Some may disagree with this, but it works for me, I do not like thin or lean yorkies...and yes I can still feel the back bones on some of my bitches even with the higher protein diet.
