Kathy...what a beautiful sewing machine! My Mom has one sort of like that. It belonged to her great grandmother. She did use it when I was smaller but I am not sure if it is still in working order or not. I need to ask her. I would love to have it in my own home one day.
OMG! The last time I sewed patterns were selling for about $3.00, lol! I totally had sticker shock when I started to get back into it. On Ebay, most patterns I bought were between $3-$6, in and out of print.

With my new antique machine, it gives me a sense of control, knowing I can sew when the power goes out, by candlelight, lol! The only drawback is that it doesn't have 'reverse'. It doesn't zigzag either, but I bought an attachment that does. The most it needed was a good cleaning and some fresh oil.... now it's running great!
