I feel your pain, ((((hugs))))making a decision like you did is the hardest yet most loving and unselfish act you can do for a beloved pet. How comforting for him it was to go to sleep with your arms around him.

After going through this 4 times, when I was planning on getting Lola my mom asked me why I would subject myself to the pain that eventually would come again. I said after knowing the love and joy a pet brings to my life, the emptiness without one would be far worse.

Take comfort in your family, your memories, and your other pets, your heart will slowly heal and your many years of memories will be with you forever.
