I thought I would share my idea with anyone who is experiencing the problems I am with hardwood floors and dogs sliding on them.
I have two dogs with problems walking on our hardwood floors. My Yorkie has bad knees and has had surgery on his hip for legg perthes. He slips so much on the floor that he is much happier spending his days on my bed. I also have a king charles cavalier and she also slides all over the floor when she tries to walk. My mom has fallen with horrific consequences so she now uses a walker. I just can't put down rugs and risk another *fall. I have tried every kind of shoe/boot made and they just don't seem to work for them. I bought socks for them and they seemed to tolerate them much better than boots but they still would slide on the floors if the socks got twisted and the non-slip areas got on the top of their feet rather than on the bottom. I bought some super grip spray from amazon and heavily sprayed the entire socks for both of them. I am thrilled that finally they are both able to walk and even run on the hardwood floors without falling and slipping. My little Yorkie just loves being sure footed on the slippery wood floors. Here's the link to the product I bought. I am sure any hardware store would have it.
