Also sometimes when they are infected & it's diff with each dog but if you express the anals daily or every other day while on the antibiotics the infection will clear up much faster. I have to do my boy daily when his are infected & if I do this it clears up in 1 round of meds otherwise he needs 2 or 3 rounds of meds. This is a trick my vet taught me.
