I had a Shih Tsu that had an anal gland infection. It took three rounds of antibiotics to clear it up. It's my understanding that anal gland infections are quite difficult to heal and often take multiple rounds and different antibiotics. Did they see indications of infection when they expressed her? As well as the antibiotics we took her in weekly to be expressed. My girl was quite elderly at the time but when the infection finally cleared up, the difference in her was dramatic. I hope Muffin gets feeling better soon!
