When I was helping my exes mom find a reputable shih tzu breeder, we found a show breeder in PA. Went to her house, she was on the Akc website, etc. I told his mom: if the breeder suggests for any reason we can take Lacey earlier than 12 weeks we say no, we want her at 12 weeks. Well, when we told the breeder she was hysterical laughing. She said 12 weeks is the MINIMUM. It may be longer if she deems necessary for the pup.
Again, I know you are not getting your baby from a breeder, per say, and I'm very glad you came here for advice. I'm just so curious why she is pushing to get the pup gone. It makes me nervous that the pup is showing signs of being sick or something and doesn't want you to change tour mind. So I wish you luck. Please come back to post pics and ask questions if you need help! |
She wasn't really pushing the puppies to be gone, but I don't think she knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to breeding. We live on a VERY tiny island in Hawaii, so everyone knows everyone. So I don't think she would sell me a sickly dog, especially since my good friend knows her. But we have a vet appointment tomorrow to get her all checked out.
I was wondering what you think is the best food for yorkies? I've been doing research and the lady at the pet supply store said EVO is a good brand, but I read that it might be too much protein for them.
