My girls are pad and outside trained. During the day they go to the door when they want out even though I keep a pad down. (I use the washable pads). At night is when they will use the pad if they need to potty. I take disposable pads with us on trips to use either in the motor coach or a motel. I just won't go outside after dark when traveling, or if it's raining. The pads are perfect all the way around. Couldn't, wouldn't do without them.
