I'm sure his nails definitely need trimming. You don't want to let them go too long, because the quick grows out further unless they are trimmed frequently. You can use a small and narrow shaver to trim the hair off the upper third of his ears and trim the hair along the ear line with scissors. That would take some weight off his ears. Of course, if you are not comfortable with that, then I'm sure a groomer will help you with that. You will also want to trim the hair on the bottom of his feet that grows around the foot pads. His little hiney will need to be trimmed as well to avoid dingleberries.
