I lost "my lil friend" Bunkey (age 9yrs,weight 4.5lbs,poodle) this way. His symptoms started in Sept of 2010,he got over it pretty quickly with meds. Next bout was Oct,then one in Nov. We did every blood test you can imagine and xrays. He was fine until Jan 2011,got over that quickly too. Then in March he had a seizure,my vet ran blood tests the next morning again, put him back on meds,I fed only Chic n Rice that I made when he was sick. That night about 11pm he was having a snack with his brothers,he siezed and continued to sieze (the ER is 20min away). They were able to stablize him,but he had had a stroke. The bloodwork came back at my vets at 7am,I was picking him up at the ER to take him to our vet. At 9am March 9th 2011 Bunkey was gone over the rainbow bridge.
My heart hurts for you so much. I know that you want to fix this for your baby and I pray that you can find a specialest that can help. Bunkey's liver enzymes were off the chart they were so high. This had not ever shown up in any previous bloodwork. I dont know if it was his food,he had been so sensative to different foods. None of my poodles can tolerate fish of any kind, not even if it is an Omega 3 added to kibble, they are all brothers. Bunkey was my vets first patient when he opened his office and the man was as upset as I was.
I will keep you both in my prayers and hope to hear only good news.
