Cry Stolen Yorkie

[FONT=Comic Sans MS]We think the public needs to know:
Pet Owners Beware! Someone is out there stealing pets. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Elle (L E) my 9 month old spayed female Yorkshire Terrier was stolen from my locked car in broad daylight. The 1970 VW convertible was parked in the front row of the parking lot at the PetSmart at Colorado Blvd. and Alameda. Also in the car was my 3-year-old shih tzu/poodle. She was left and nothing in the car was disturbed. We can't find any witnesses. To enter the car they must have had a tool that would fit into a 2" window opening. PetSmart says nothing like this has happened before - to their knowledge. A police report was filed with the Glendale Police Department and they have been very helpful. There may be a "ring" scoping out pet stores in hopes of finding dogs to re-sell. We want to let people know. We are heartbroken - she is family. We are offering a $1,000 reward.

Sincerely,

Response from Taunia Hottman, Sky 9 reporter:

"This is HORRIBLE! A friend of our pilot also had his Yorkie taken straight from his back yard at the Broadlands. There was no blood, so it lead the owners to believe that it might not have been a wild animal that took the dog.
I'll let my assignment desk know about the story. It brings to mind the fact that these 'luxury dogs' are so very popular right now that they are going for hundreds of dollars. This could be the start of a very scary trend."

"I hope you don't mind, but I also passed your story on to my husband, Jeremy Hubbard. He is the weekend anchor at Fox 31 and was mortified when I told him your story. About a week ago, we got a new puppy...so the fear hits close to home. Maybe if we spread the word...people will be less bold about taking people's pets!"

"Thanks for the e-mail and for watching, I hope you find your little one safe and sound!"

Sincerely,

Taunia Hottman
