It'll take as long as it takes... Just repeat over and over with LOTS of praise and treats. I used treats (some of her dry puppy food) to reinforce the command. I still use the hand signal (pointing down) for her to lay down, just not as close to her as in the beginning....
Really confused her when I tried to teach her to Come and pointing at the floor, she'd run up n lay down. LOL After I used a different hand gesture she started to Come when called. We worked on this on and off all day today, along with Sit and Down to reinforce them.
