Hi there...my Sammy is 10 weeks old. When I got him for xmas I to was unsure what to feed him. I wanted him to have the healthiest diet possible. I did some research and decide to make my own food, which contains beef, carrots, rice and garlic. I also bought him kibble "Orijen" which from my research is one of the best. You can only buy it in a pet feed store not a grocery store. I tend to warm up the homemade food (I freeze it in weekly portions) and mix it with the kibble, usually for one meal. Kibble is in his bowl when he feels hungry. They do not eat much for sure. I also have a boxer (who needless to say eats quite a bit). Sammy tends to nibble on the boxers kibble also. I am not sure this is good for him but I am having trouble keeping him away from it. Yorkies seem to be quite picky but if you are going to feed kibble, which I believe is good for their teeth, you might want to try the Orijen.
Good luck
