My advice is a vet check first. My tentive opinion is leaning toward loss of hearing, loss of sight or maybe even dementia. My Noah began to do unusual things like staring at nothing when he was 17 but he was almost compleatly deaf by then and had lost much of his sight. The only way to be sure is to have him checked out.
