For the most part I just use a clip on bow. Once the grooming band is in place you can clip a little bow on and it will stay in place. I have tried the scrunchie but they just did not hold as well as the smaller latex free grooming bands. toplinepet.com
They are almost at the bottom of the page of this link. |
Thank you for the link. I will go and look at them. I had emailed one lady and explained my situation and she said to try the 1/4" latex-free bands. Of course, I have to make sure I am on the latex-free page before clicking next time I order 1,000 bands !
I had ordered the 5/16" inch bands based on the website's 'what band to use for what' notes, and then I found myself wrapping 4-5 times so they don't just slip out with the first head shake.

You can place the latex free bands closer to the front when the fur is too short for regular top knot placement. I have done two little top knots toward the front just to get the hair out of her face.
I give Gracie The Missing Link which is a natural food supplement that is a great boost for skin and coat as well as other nutritional issues. I think Petco sells it now. I sprinkle it on her food and she eats it with no problem and she is quite picky about what she will eat. |
I haven't done two little top knots, but I think it is so cute on the Malties! Brody's hair is pretty thin so I don't know how well it would work...I think there'd be about 12 hairs on each side.
By "from the break in her nose up" do you mean the from the "stop" (I think it's called)...where the forehead meets the muzzle at the inner corners of the eyes, or from where the muzzle hair starts growing right behind the nose? I am curious because Brody's muzzle hair seems to grow from his little black nose
back between his eyes toward his top knot instead of
out to each side, creating a part in the muzzle hair like Mia's hair.
I even toyed

with pulling that hair straight back and up into the top knot, but wondered how dumb...and ignorant on my part...

...it would look to do that, and whether it would impair his vision or peripheral range. It is still too short to try it, though. All I want is for him to be able to see, and for everybody else to see that he has "eyes" in there somewhere.
I will also check out The Missing Link natural food supplement. I am a big fan of clean, organic, and natural products.
