I'd suggest you buy a no tear shampoo for your little one.
Max has had green eye boogers twice this year that the doctor believes were allergies because he had them at the same time he had a few weird sores on his undercarriage.

I think the green boogers were caused by a wild hair growing out of the corner of his eye. With careful cleaning with a wet cotton ball, we were able to keep the hair from irritating the eye.

Sometimes the cause of eye things are innocent, but often they are not. Plus, Max has had some bad reactions to eye drops, sterile saline and tri-thalmic solution. That is why I am always hesitant to tell people to try drops.
