I would never treat an infection in the eyes of any of my pups with an over the counter product.
A pup with drainage in his/her eye should be seen by a vet imho. Eyes are not something to mess with. An ulcer can develop and go bad overnight and they can lose their eyesight!
As for over the counter products, your vet should always be available to discuss the ones with you that are ok for pups! I always call my vet for things that perhaps can be treated without being seen. You don't have to always take them in.. |
