When Gracie was about 9 months old I put her in my daughters bedroom while the cable guy was there working on a problem. She just had to be in the middle of where he was working so I thought I would get her out of his way. Well, at some point my daughter let her out of the bedroom and apparently Gracie slipped out the door when the cable guy went out to get another part. I had no idea. Thankfully, when the cable guy left he spotted Gracie up by the road (we live quite some distance from the road) and he came back and knocked on the door with her in his hand. I about passed out. It still makes me shiver to think what could have happened. Never assume your dog can never get away from you. Always keep an ID tag on them. |
