Please keep on top of this & if she doesn't seem 100% by the time she's done with All her meds then get her back to the vet ASAP as coccidia can kill your dog if it gets out of control. It is not common but can happen. If she does not respond to this round of med then I would insist they keep her & put her on IV antibiotics. My uncle had a tiny Chi pup who had coccidia & the vet kept her for a few days then sent her home with the meds that she would throw up Every time they gave them to her. She spent a total of 3 wks out of 5 wks in the hospital & each time they would keep her for 2 to 4 days & sent her home. They should have never sent her home as long as she could not keep her food or meds down. The coccidia got out of control & she died as it went to her liver kidneys & brain. She should have been put on IV antibiotics from the very beginning as she had a severe case from the beginning. |
