American Kennel Club - Yorkshire Terrier. Yorkies are small so when they get sick its pretty important they get vet care asap because they can go down hill so fast. If you decide on a yorkie please remember these things if you get a puppy from a breeder and not rescue a dog from a shelter. Make sure the puppy is not leaving its mother until 12 weeks, see where the puppies are raised, see where the parents are living, make sure the parents have been health tested, make sure that there is a health grantee, that they are AKC, dont go with a "breeder" who sells mixes, and please please please do not buy a puppy from a pet store because all dogs in pet stores are from puppy mills no matter what the pet stored tell you.
