) Ha. I just try to be reasonable and sensible and look at the other persons view too. I've had family members on the other side, and I can say, it's nearly impossible to convince someone otherwise once they've made up their mind.
Let them learn the hard way. I am not saying this person she is getting her pup from is a good breeder, but I am also not saying they are necessarily bad. It's impossible to judge without seeing for ourselves. Yes no reputable breeder would have multiple breeds, especially 'chiweenies' (they are not even a real breed) but all we can do is inform. Would I recommend purchasing a dog from there? Well, no... but if the OP's mind is made, all we can do is wish for the best and teach.
If I could go back in time and tell my 18 year old self everything I know now, I'd still go and get Jackson where I got him from, even knowing everything I know now. Maybe that makes me irresponsible. But I could not have asked for a better dog. With that said, would I seek out such a breeder when getting a 2nd dog? No...
So, to the OP, I'd just know that you may have a greater risk going where you are going to get a dog and prepared for potential health issues. But honestly, even if you were going to a reputable breeder, those potential issues could still be there. So I don't know.
The main reason I do not like BYBs is that they are adding to the overpopulation of dogs already in shelters... the good thing about a reputable breeder is they will always take a puppy back if for any reason you cannot keep it. With a BYB, they do not even ask about your lifestyle, and if you end up not being able to care for the dog anymore, it often goes to the shelter.... Puppy mills (dogs from pet stores) are a whole 'nother thing. I would never support purchasing from a puppy mill because you are putting money into the hands of those horrible horrible people and allowing your puppies mama and father dog to be bred over and over again living in absolute filth and horrible conditions.
