Btw, I got Jackson at 9 weeks. He was already 5lbs. I did not have any issues whatsoever and preferred to get him at that age to start our bonding. I don't believe that three more weeks in that house would have done him any good. Not that it was a terrible situation, she was a single mother living in a rowhouse, she bred her pet Yorkie and raised the puppies in her bedroom, next to her bed every night. But I would have rather had him with me during those 9 - 12 weeks.

While I do agree, that a lot of times staying until 12 weeks is ideal, getting a dog a bit earlier is not as bad as people make it seem, IMO, and it really depends on the situation and the dog itself.

That's not necessarily always the case.... at 18, I was not into partying, or gallivanting around. Sure, maybe I was the odd one out, but that's NOT everybody. I never expect my parents to cut the slack in terms of taking care of the dog; in fact, I don't trust my mom or step-dad anyways so I am always sure to be home when I need to be because they basically have nothing to do with Jackson, lol.

I think I am a way better dog owner than about 90% of the adults over the age of 30 that I know who have dogs, who live their lives in the backyard every once in a while and coming in the house to just lay around as if they were floor ornaments.
