I think she now realizes it is not ideal to get a puppy at 8 weeks but how many of us have. I know 3 of mine were. One had health issues, 2 didn't. I also got a 5 month old from a show breeder who died 5 weeks later due to congenital kidney failure that neither the breeder or I could foresee. I still think anytime you take on a pet their is a risk for health issues and more so for small breeds. That doesn't mean only the very rich should own one. As long as one is prepared thats all you can do. Now she knows she has to be extra cautious and what to watch for and plan for. It sounds like she has a good support system in place, bought insurance and learned a lot on YT. I don't want to lose another person who could continue to learn a lot as she raises her baby. I hope Roxy has a long and healthy life with you.
