I couldn't agree with this anymore! We added a female to our family (after Couver had been an only child for 2 years...), and it was the best decision we ever made! He now has a companion and absolutely loves his sister. I feel better knowing he has a friend at home when I'm gone, and the bonus is I didn't lose my momma's boy... He is still very much about me, but has a companion to enjoy spending time with while I'm away

I didn't mention it before, but we took Brody when we went to see if Mia was the right companion. I sat cross-legged in the floor with the kids, and Mia beat Brody in the game of King of Mommy's Lap...he had not lost that game before. But, they got along great then, and they are inseparable ever since. Brody was 14 months old when we got him in May 2011, and Mia was 17 months old when we got her in August 2011. Mia is 6 days older than Brody.

I think sometimes it is more about how you treat them that influences how they treat you. Brody became Mommy's boy the first week he was with us, and that has not changed. Mia is Mommy's girl, too. Both are Daddy's buddies. Both know just whose emotions to play on...and when. Us? We are completely smitten and wrapped...and covered in Yorkie kisses.
