If Chewie had hair that long, I'd be picking out knots all day long! He has thick fluffy hair, and he's such a boy about it--short hair works better for us.
That being said, Sparrow has such a good start on a long coat, and she doesn't tangle easily! If you have the time and inclination, and it fits her personality, I say go for it! You can always cut it later if you decide it's not working for you
