I read that a dog with yeast issues shouldn't be fed potatoes because they turn to sugar in their system which creates more yeast that feeds the issue.

My Megan has always had on again, off again ear and glad issues...which can be caused by a yeast overgrowth in their system.

I just started feeding them Natural Balance Synergy, which has no potatoes, and they love it. I fed them another brand last month that had no potatoes and she did well but Maddie didn't like that food.

I've fed their other formulas in the past and they always loved them but the last bag I used was the one with pea protein and their stools smelled like ammonia or something...it was bad!

So, we are now into the 4th week with no issues. Yay Megan!

For the dog 'foodies' on the forum...is NB Synergy a decent food?

Is it possible that there is merrit to the 'no potato' thing? I'll continue to watch her and see how this goes.
